How do I collect personal injury protection from my car accident?

Yesterday, I was driving across a bridge when a car coming from the opposite direction swerved into my vehicle and sent my car over the bridge and into the water. Since then, I haven’t been able to find the number of my insurance company (it’s a mom and pop business) and have no way of getting from point A to point B because I can’t leave my house without seeing worms in the sky. How do I inform my insurance company and get my PIP?

You find your insurance card.

You look at your old insurance bill that you paid and see who the check was written to.

You look through your check book register and see if you see a name that looks like you wrote a check to an insurance company.

You open up the phone book and see if you recognize the name.

You get a cab/friend/relative to drive you to the place where you bought the insurance from.

Although….this story of not remembering who your company is……don’t smell quite right. There is more to this story than you are telling.

IT SHOULD BE ON YOUR INSURANCE POLICY CARD. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE YOU MAY HAVE BEEN SCAMMED. CHECK WITH THE STATE INSURANCE COMMISION TO LEARN IF THE COMPANY EXISTS.YOU MAY BE ABLE TO FILE WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY OF THE DRIVER WHO HIT YOU. YOU NEED TO GET A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT. GOOD LUCK

Your insurance company is a mom and pop business? I think you mean the agency…not the company. You should have some record of what company you are covered by. Call them and file your report.

I suggest you write all of this down — in a fiction novel…
