How long does a personal injury case, against an insurance company take to settle once filed, in Connecticut?

Other parties were implicated by defendent, but they were rulled not liable in April 2006, and a motion of default was granted against defendent. Personal injury against an INSURANCE COMPANY? Very odd. Did they have you arrested falsely? Or did they discriminate against you unjustly?? Personal injury suits can take 3-6 years to come to a conclusion. Usually dismissals happen pretty quickly, though.
