Is it a requirment for a personal injury attorney to have a college degre or be board certified?
Aimee K asked:
Having an argument with a friend over this topic. If you look in the phone book, there are tons of attorneys with full page ads that specifically say….Not certified by the Texas Bar of Legal…..which means they may or may not have a degree, but for sure arent board certified. I have found on the net that there are 7 states that dont require a law degree. Is texas one of them?

of course. It is against the law to practice law without a license.
Attorney’s have to not only have a College Degree, they also have to pass the Board Exam in their State. You can go online to view information on any Attorney by going to the State Bar Association website for your particular State. You can see if they have had any disciplinary action against them.
Take it from me, having a GOOD Attorney is a matter of life and death, or in the very least Winning or Losing! Chose wisely.
